You wake up.
Do stuff.
You go to bed.
You are the rock star of your life!
Before you know it, a decade has passed and you wonder “where did my time go?” We live our lives thinking that we don’t have enough time, but really, we all have the same amount. It’s not how much time you get, it’s what you do with the time you’ve got.
So, where is your time going?
Statistician Nathan Yau of flowingdata.com created a pretty impressive simulation of how time flies throughout our typical day. He compiled data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics of 1000 working adults and visually represented how they moved from activity to activity depending on the time of day.

There is a different way to look at this graph
As I watched the hours tick by in this animation, I thought of myself as a dot going from activity to activity multiplied by 1,000 days of my life. When put in this context, I got a good grasp of just how much time I spend on mundane things.
Give your time meaning
While our job at Dovico is to help you capture time in a timesheet, it is up to you to place value in those moments that you are saving. We are all dots moving around from one side to another every day, but what we do in service to one another while we are stationary in our work is how we make our time meaningful and impactful.
Time is such a precious thing, yet it is the most unforgiving thief of your life.
